Sometimes, you just need a sister.

Founded in 1991 by John Cardinal O’Connor, these Sisters have taken not only the three traditional vows of poverty, chastity, and obedience, but have also been called to be consecrated under a special, fourth vow to protect and enhance the sacredness of human life.

Reverence and gratitude for the unique and unrepeatable gift of each human life made in the image and likeness of God fuels the prayer of each Sister in mission to build the Kingdom of God and the “Culture of Life”.

We are blessed to have the Denver Sisters serving students at CSU, CU Boulder, UNC, University of Denver, CO School of Mines and North Dakota State Univ.

This fun and exciting race was inaugurated in 2015 by Shannon Gunning who has since entered into community with the Sisters of Life in New York. The Sisters live by Divine Providence and the Nun Run is the single largest fundraising event they have in Denver. All proceeds go to support the Sisters of Life. That’s right, all proceeds will go to support, protect and enhance a Culture of Life through the mission of these awesome Sisters.
